Job Title: Senior Product Manager

Location: Nigeria

Job Description

  • Develop and communicate a clear product strategy that aligns with the company’s overall goals and objectives. Define and articulate the product vision, taking into consideration market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape.
  • Create and manage a comprehensive product roadmap that outlines the features, enhancements, and updates to be delivered over time. Prioritize features based on business impact, customer value, and technical feasibility.
  • Gather and document detailed product requirements, user stories, and use cases. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure a shared understanding of the product’s scope and functionality.
  • Work closely with engineering, design, marketing, sales, and other teams to drive product development. Foster effective communication and collaboration to ensure alignment and successful execution.
  • Embrace Agile methodologies and work with development teams to iteratively deliver high-quality products. Participate in sprint planning, backlog grooming, and other Agile ceremonies.
  • Advocate for the needs of the end-users and ensure that user feedback and insights are integrated into the product development process. Conduct user research, usability testing, and market analysis to inform product decisions.
  • Lead product launches and coordinate go-to-market strategies. Develop marketing collateral, sales enablement materials, and other assets to support the successful introduction of new products or features.
  • Define key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of the product. Monitor and analyze product metrics, user engagement, and market trends to identify opportunities for improvement and growth.
  • Continuously iterate on the product based on user feedback and data insights. Identify areas for optimization, enhancements, and new features to drive ongoing product evolution.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior product managers and other team members. Share best practices, provide constructive feedback, and contribute to the overall growth of the product management team.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in product management, preferably with a focus on software, technology, or digital products.
  • Strong understanding of product development methodologies, including Agile.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively across teams.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to leverage data and insights to make informed decisions.
  • Strategic thinking and the ability to align product efforts with business goals.
  • Experience with market research, user testing, and customer validation. Proven track record of successful product launches and lifecycle management.
  • Leadership skills to drive cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders.

Job Title: Technical Product Manager

Job Description

  • A Technical Product Manager (TPM) plays a critical role in the development and success of technology products.
  • The TPM bridge the gap between technical teams (engineering, design, and data science) and non-technical teams (marketing, sales, and customer support) to ensure that a product is developed, launched, and maintained effectively.
  • The TPM is responsible for the strategic planning, execution, and overall lifecycle management of a product, ensuring that it meets customer needs and aligns with Wakanow’s goals and objectives.​

Responsibilities

  • Define the product vision, strategy, and roadmap based on market research, competitive analysis, and customer feedback. Collaboratewith stakeholders to align product goals with overall company objectives.
  • Gather and distill customer requirements, translating them into detailed product specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria  for development teams.
  • Work closely with engineering, design, data science, and other relevant teams to prioritize features, plan sprints, and ensure timely and successful product delivery.
  • Utilize Agile methodologies to manage the product development lifecycle, including sprint planning, backlog grooming, and facilitatingstand-up meetings.
  • Lead the end-to-end product development process, ensuring that the product is developed to meet quality standards, technical feasibility, and user expectations.
  • Make data-driven decisions on feature prioritization, balancing customer needs, business goals, and technical constraints.
  • Coordinate the launch of new products or features, including creating go-to-market strategies, messaging, and collaborating with marketing and sales teams.
  • Monitor key product metrics post-launch, gather user feedback, and iterate on features to enhance product performance and user satisfaction.
  •  Identify potential risks and obstacles in the product development process and work proactively to mitigate them.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitors to ensure the product remains competitive and relevant.
  • Keep all relevant stakeholders informed about product updates, progress, and potential challenges throughout the development cycle

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Higher Degree in a relevant field (Computer Science, Engineering, Business, etc.)
  • Proven experience as a Technical Product Manager or similar role in the technology industry.
  • Strong understanding of software development processes and methodologies, preferably Agile.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to translate technical concepts into clear and concise language for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in tools such as JIRA, Confluence, or similar project management and collaboration tools.
  • Analytical mindset with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • Effective communication, negotiation, and teamwork skills.
  • Experience in working with cross-functional teams and managing stakeholders.
  • Certification in Agile methodologies or Product Management (e.g., Certified Scrum Product Owner) is a plus.
  • Previous experience with data analysis, user experience design, or technical writing can be beneficial
