20+ Saudi Arab Universities Among Top 100 Globally Ranked Universities On a very serious note, more than 20 Saudi Arab universities are ranked among the top 100 globally ranked universities, as reported by TopUniversities.
If you get a chance to study at any of these top-ranked KSA universities, your career will definitely take off to the next level.
Free Education Opportunities in Saudi Arabia
Did you know that you can study at these top-ranked universities in Saudi Arabia without paying a single penny? It may sound unbelievable, but it is a fact.
Saudi Arabia is now recognized as one of the biggest research and STEM hubs, as mentioned in schoolfinder, and the Saudi government is heavily investing in education to attract international students, scholars, researchers, and educationists.
They are offering free education through KSA scholarships, top-class research facilities, academic research funding, high salaries, and educational incentives.
So, international students can benefit from studying for free in Saudi Arabia by winning fully funded scholarships and free study visas.
1. KFUPM Scholarships for International Students
One of my top recommendations is to apply for scholarships offered by KFUPM (King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals).
Hundreds of fully funded KSA scholarships are offered to international and KSA citizen students intending to pursue MS/PhD degree programs in fields such as chemical engineering, geology and mining, corrosion engineering, aerospace engineering, computer science, metallurgy, petroleum/refining engineering, IT-related subjects, and similar disciplines.
If you wish to study at KFUPM on their Deanship-KFUPM scholarships for MS/PhD, don’t wait any longer. The application deadline is June 22, 2023 (Ref: deadline). Be sure to submit your online admission application at KFUPM as soon as possible.
2. KAUST Scholarships
Your second option is to seek graduate-level admission at King Abdullah University of Science & Technology (KAUST).
If you are admitted to this university for an MS/PhD program, you will automatically be entitled to receive free education, a monthly stipend ranging from $1600 to $2500, accommodation at KAUST, a relocation/settlement allowance, and dental/medical health insurance sponsorship.
Keep in mind that KAUST is one of the top-ranked Saudi universities, and competition for admission is high. However, if you are lucky enough to be admitted to KAUST, you can expect a high-paying job after graduation.
Application submission for admission at KAUST is free of charge, and no GRE certification is required. However, you will need to provide your curriculum vitae, TOEFL score of 79 or IELTS score of 6.5 bands, as well as your degrees and transcripts when submitting an admission application at KAUST.
3. Alfaisal University Scholarships
You can also submit an admission application for the fall 2023 semester at Alfaisal University in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Excitingly, Alfaisal University offers merit-based, need-based, sibling discount, and
dean’s recommendation scholarships for undergraduate, postgraduate, and research-based degree programs (Ref: Alfaisal University).
4. King Faisal Foundation Scholarships
In 2023, the King Faisal Foundation has allocated 126 million Saudi riyals for scholarships to promote higher education in Saudi Arabia. Take advantage of this opportunity and consider applying for King Faisal Foundation scholarships, which are awarded at three major Saudi universities: Effat University, King Faisal School, and Alfaisal University. These scholarships are an excellent choice to study for free in Saudi Arabia.
5. Islamic University of Medinah Scholarships
Another option for studying in Saudi Arabia for free at the MS/PhD level is the Islamic University of Medinah, which now offers departmental scholarships to local Saudi and international students. To learn more about these scholarships, contact the faculty department of the university before submitting your admission application to inquire about available scholarships. In many cases, professors also provide research work-based sponsorship to international students.
