Three Nigerian Lecturers From Kano State Are Most Cited Among Worldwide Scientist

Three Nigerian Lecturers from Kano state Dr. Aliyu Isa Aliyu, Dr. Tukur Abdulkadir Sulaiman and Dr. Abdullahi Yusuf are amongst the 2% of the world’s most cited scientists.
The list, published in August 2021, was drawn up by a research team headed by Prof. John Loannidis at Stanford University in California.
The list includes more than 100,000 researchers selected from more than 8 million scientists in 22 science fields and 176 sub-fields around the world.
The three young researchers were among the recipients of the Kano State Government Foreign Scholarship under Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso from 2011 to 2014. They were sponsored in 2012 to pursue a master’s degree from the Jordanian University of Science and Technology in Irbid, Jordan.
Dr. Abdullahi Yusuf
Dr. Abdullahi Yusuf is a native of Dala Local Government Area of Kano State. He is a graduate of the Kano University of Science and Technology in 2010. He received his Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics at Firat University, Elazig, Turkey in 2019.
Dr. Tukur Abdulkadir Sulaiman
Dr. Tukur Abdulkadir Sulaiman was born in the Kiru Local Government area of Kano. He is a 2009 graduate of the Bayero University of Kano. He graduated with a PhD. in Applied Mathematics at Firat University, Elazig, Turkey in 2019.
Dr. Aliyu Isa Aliyu
Dr. Aliyu Isa Aliyu was born in Bishi in the local government area of Kano State. He is a 2009 graduate of the Bayero University of Kano. He has a doctoral degree. in Applied Maths at Firat University, Elazig, Turkey in 2018.
The trio now works for the Department of Mathematics at the Federal University of Dutse, Jigawa, Nigeria.
